2 Corinthians 12:7-10

What does power and privilege mean to you?

How important is having control and protecting privilege to you?

So many of us in this nation want power, and will do almost anything to protect our privilege.  However, when it comes to the Gospel, we are told that Gods’ power is seen in weakness, and privilege should never be above sacrifice.

The greatest display of power ever seen in the world was Jesus’ death on the cross.  The cross is also where the greatest sacrifice was made.

Jesus gave up all power and privilege to bring salvation to men and woman.

Paul says in 2 Corinthians 12, verse 9:
Gods’ grace is sufficient for me, for His power is made perfect in weakness.  Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

This is a very good verse to understand and live by.  It changes my desire for power and the need to protect privilege.

Lord please help me to grasp the importance of your Grace.

To live not by my own strength or ability, but by yours.

I pray I would not be so caught up with power and the protection of privilege, but seek to live with the cross of Christ as my example.

Pray that we at CCB would be a Church where Gods’ Grace is preached and seen.

Pray that we in Gods’ power, would forsake power and desire for privilege, for the sake of the Gospel.

Pray that we would be a church known for sacrificial love, giving and service.

Pray that many would come to know the wonderful Grace of God at CCB.

Pray for continued humility, gentleness and patience among us.

Pray that Gods’ Spirit would fall afresh on us, making us more like Jesus.
